The Blues Is Just A Passing Bird

Continuing to live with ME/CFS is not something you need to decide to do. It’s something you simply need to let happen.

Your body is so much stronger than you realize and much stronger than your mind. It will find a way to keep living. You don’t need to decide anything, you just need to let your body keep going.

I think the biggest mistake we all make is getting too caught up in our emotional state of mind in the moment. It ultimately does not matter. A favorite musician of mine The Tallest Man On Earth made an album called "The Blues Is Just A Passing Bird". We should all try to experience our emotional state as we do a passing bird. Acknowledging its existence and completely accepting its temporary presence in our life as we watch it fly by. We in fact see beauty in a passing bird and neither long for its return nor wish for it to pass faster.

Surviving ME/CFS is not about being happy all the time. It’s not about conquering or controlling your mind. It’s about letting go and letting your body breath, letting your heart keep pumping. It will continue. It wants to continue. It was designed to find all means possible to continue despite unimaginable and constant assaults from the chaos of the world.

All you have to do is let it do it’s job.

There is peace in this acceptance beyond the pain of our emotions.

The universe is so much more vast than the tiny bubble of our feelings in the moment. I know many of you think about ending your lives because of this bubble you currently feel stuck in. But we can’t comprehend the vastness of the universe outside this bubble and can’t possibly make a decision to end what we don’t understand.

Accept being unhappy or desperate or angry. Accept the pain and loneliness and sadness. Accept whatever you are feeling. Let it go. It is just a passing bird. Your body will continue in spite of it. All you have to do is let it.
