Surviving

Surviving ME/CFS doesn’t require being happy. We all want to be happy and when we’re incredibly unhappy it can feel like the world is crushing us and killing us and we can’t go on. But in truth, our state of mind is completely separate from our ability to survive. Our bodies function and fight to survive regardless of how we feel.

It’s important to remember that no matter how desperate, lonely, misunderstood, disregarded, lost, depressed, etc you feel, your body is still functioning and fighting to survive.

When you feel like you can’t go on, remember that this feeling is only in your mind. Your body CAN go on. And it will go on if you let it, regardless of how you feel.

Surviving ME/CFS and at some point getting better is a waiting game; Letting go of how you feel now and just letting your body keep breathing, letting your heart keep beating.

Let yourself feel whatever you feel. Hunker down and let it flow through you. And let your body keep fighting to survive.

One day soon there will be treatments and a cure. We just need to let our bodies survive until that day comes. And when it does, your whole mindset will change and you will be so grateful to be alive.

I beg you all to keep fighting and believe with me. I believe in each and every one of you.
